- Desktop Analysis Project.  Using the Desktop Analysis Guide, and this video, complete the Desktop Analysis Form for the site. You can find  the base map here, and existing conditions here. Note the scale on each site map. Bring a printed copy of the form to class.

Review the following documents:
Drawing & Permitting Exercise (Due by 5PM on Thursday, September 3)
Full assignment details to be given in class.Â
- Using what you have learned throughout the workshop, refine the concept drawing begun in class and develop permit drawings for a living shoreline appropriate for the site discussed in class. Submit a pdf of the drawings to katie@cblpro.org by 5pm on  Thursday, September 3.
- Complete a JPA Short form for the site design you develop. Submit along with the drawings.
- Answer the following questions pertaining to your design:

- How will your shoreline adapt to the intermediate high rate of sea level rise?
- What is the expected life of your project?

Late assignments will not receive written feedback. This assignment is a required part of the CBLP-Shorelines certificate.

Hands-On Requirement
To earn your CBLP-Shorelines Certificate, you must participate in a living shoreline installation project and report your activity. View the presentation from day four here.
You can fulfill this requirement in several ways:
- Volunteer at a living shoreline installation hosted by a CBLP partner organization.
- Participate in a living shoreline installation as part of your job.
- Volunteer on a living shoreline installation with an organization near you (especially if you live outside of Virginia).
After completing your hands-on experience, please report your activity using [this form].
