CBLP is pleased to partner with The Watershed Institute to bring an adapted version of the Level 1 training to landscape professionals in New Jersey who design, install and maintain stormwater best management practices (BMPs) and conservation landscapes. As stormwater regulations evolve, landscape professionals are being asked to play a greater role in ensuring BMPs are built and managed for long-term success. This specialized class is based on a core set of standards in sustainable landscaping practice. It integrates appropriate regional resources for those who live and practice in New Jersey and surrounding areas, with materials from the CBLP training program.
Instruction and materials cover:
- Design and installation of stormwater practices, with an emphasis on effective management practices
- A visual system for inspecting BMPs
- Conservation landscaping topics such as soils, invasive species, and incorporating native plants to benefit the environment
This course includes a field practicum (day two of class) The practicum is entirely outdoors in all weather conditions. Participants will visit multiple stormwater practices and must drive their own vehicles or carpool between locations. Be prepared for walking on various surfaces. By registering for this course, you have agreed to the following cancellation policy: Cancellations made at least THREE (3) WEEKS prior to event start dates may receive a refund for the cost of the class minus a $35 processing fee. Registration may be transferred to an alternative WIGI or CBLP Level 1 date at any time, without penalty. Participants who wish to request a refund or date change must notify CBLP by email. CBLP will notify you of any changes in schedule related to inclement weather. Should we need to cancel or reschedule a class, date change/refund fees will be waived.Â
