Meadow Management Workshop
Continue your CBLP meadow learning journey with a focus on managing meadows over time. As with many sustainable landscape practices, the long-term success of meadow projects depends on effective maintenance. In this two-part workshop, meadow practitioners will share real-world experience, practical strategies, and lessons learned from managing meadows of various sizes and contexts. Participants will gain insight into common challenges, evolving management approaches, and tools for sustaining healthy, functional meadows over the long term.

Learning Objectives:

- Review the benefits of meadows for wildlife and stormwater
- Understand routine meadow maintenance requirements and common management challenges for meadows of various sizes
- Learn about techniques and tools to plan for effective meadow management
- Use detailed case studies based on real world meadow projects to demonstrate the evolution of several meadow projects over time
- Discuss strategies for funding maintenance work
- Review the importance of clear communication with clients and other professionals about the value of meadows and expectations for meadow evolution over time
- Visit several existing meadow projects to reinforce classroom learning
- Be able to develop a maintenance plan for an existing meadow
- Practice field identification of invasive plant species

This workshop is made possible through funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), with additional logistical support from Native Creations PA and LandStudies.
Workshop registration fees under $100 are non-refundable. If you must cancel, upon request, we will issue a credit equaling the cost of the class for another CBLP event. Workshop registration is transferable to another individual.
