The next Level 2 Intensive Seminar will be offered in a Hybrid format with online classes on March 20, 21 and 27 and an in-person field day on March 22 in the DC area.
Level 2 topics include detailed site analysis, soil and vegetation protection during construction, using natural plant communities as reference landscapes to inspire design, and an in-depth focus on stormwater BMP treatment train design and installation, with an eye toward long-term management success. Days 1, 2 & 4 are spent doing classroom work and Day 3 revolves around a natural community field day and related activities. CBLP is focused on creating a connected community of like-minded professionals, and this fast-paced and dynamic class allows dedicated time for networking and socializing with participants and instructors.
To apply for Level 2, you must have already passed the Level 1 exam (or plan to complete the exam), and must have experience in design and/or installation of stormwater practices. It is possible for highly experienced professionals to test for Level 1 without completing the course. Please contact katie@cblpro.org if you are interested in a Level 1 waiver.
Candidates who plan to take Level 2 in March 2024 must pass the Level 1 exam by February 20th.
Level 2 involves preparatory pre-class work, including reading, watching pre-recorded lectures, and writing a short summary of a stormwater BMP project designed or installed by the candidate. Homework will be available for registered participants about one month before the seminar begins. Participants must attend all days and complete a residential project (during and after class) and an online open-book test to earn the Level 2 credential(s). The fall project and test will be due on December 23, 2024. Please take this into account when planning your schedule.
CBLP will follow CDC safety and hygiene protocols when we gather in person, and will abide by all local and state guidelines for gatherings, which means we cannot rule out Covid-related cancellations. We have instituted a flexible change policy in case you or we need to postpone. If, after registering and paying for Level 2, your plans change, you may defer registration until a later session. There is a small fee associated with deferring.
If you have previously taken Level 2, we welcome you to return for a “refresher” for a nominal administrative fee. Please inquire!
